Dexter - The one and only owner of Dexter's Lab,
our boy genius wakes up with an idea for "his greatest invention" each
morning. His greatest challenge, however, is not offered by science,
but by his meddling sister Dee Dee who is girly and pinky and twirly -
everything Dexter tries to avoid.
Dee Dee
- with a magnetic attraction towards Dexter's Laboratory, Dee Dee
doesn't care much for science and technological improvements. She is
attracted to bright colors and likes to mix things up, often with
catastrophic consequences. Dee Dee does not set out to destroy Dexter's
Lab on purpose, but her curiosity is best expressed through her most
memorable phrase: "what does this button do?"
Dexter's parents - unaware of the giant laboratory underneath their home, Dexter's mom and dad often get caught up in their son's experiments.
Mandark
- Dexter's archrival, Mandark, is also a scientist. Unlike other kids,
Dexter and Mandark compete in the area of science. Mandark, however,
has a crush for Dexter's sister, Dee Dee, but also a desire to wreck
havoc in Dexter's laboratory.

JK Rowling's star wizard will die by the end of her Harry Potter
book series, according to a 53% majority of over 15,000 votes cast in
HPANA's informal poll. Most fans indicated Harry would sacrifice
himself to save loved ones before the end of book seven.
We asked, "Will Harry Potter survive the series and become an adult?"
Here's the rundown as of this story (voting is still open):
41%: No, he'll sacrifice himself to save his loved ones.
29%: Yes, they all live happily ever after.
12%: Yes (for some other reason).
9%: No. If he's not killed, Jo will be hounded to write more.
5%: Yes, though it'll be at St. Mungo's.
2%: No (for some other reason).
The author has playfully hinted -- more than once -- at her leading
character's unsure future (at least as far as fans are concerned;
Rowling herself knows exactly how the series will end, having already
written the final chapter).

Sourav Ganguly became the most successful captain in the history of Indian Test cricket following victory in the Rawalpindi Test on Friday.
It was Ganguly's 15th Test win as India captain, one more than Mohammad Azharuddin's tally of 14. The remarkable aspect about Ganguly's record is that he needed nine Tests less than Azharuddin to overhaul the record. To read more, Click here

One e-mail claims you have ‘won a new iPhone’. Clicking on the
link however brings you to a page that attempts to exploit a number of
well known Internet Explorer vulnerabilities and then downloads a
malicious executable ’sys—-.exe’. This executable installs itself as a
service and upon review appears to be a spam bot. Anti virus coverage
was very spotty this morning but has improved during the day.
Another scam aims to convince readers they need to go and buy an
iPhone on what appears to be an Apple site (faked using a browser
helper object). Naturally the site does not belong to Apple and you end
up paying someone in Latvia. Sunbelt has a great writeup on this here.
Thanks to roseman for the link.

Experts are warning of a bogus Microsoft security bulletin that contains malware designed to take control of the user’s PC.
The emails contain the header ‘Microsoft Security Bulletin
MS07-0065′ and come with Microsoft logos and a layout very similar to
the Microsoft web page.
Recipients are told that a zero-day flaw in Outlook has already been
exploited to infect over 100,000 machines, and the email contains a
link to the ‘patch’ for the problem.
“Security bulletins from Microsoft describing vulnerabilities in its
software are a common occurrence, so it comes as no surprise to see
hackers adopting this kind of disguise in their attempt to infect
Windows PCs,” said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos.
“The irony is that, as awareness of computer security issues and the
need for patching against vulnerabilities have risen, social
engineering tricks which pose as critical software fixes are likely to
succeed in conning the public.”
The link in fact downloads the Behav-112 Trojan, which allows the
computer to be operated remotely to send spam or take part in
distributed denial-of-service attacks.
The emails have been widely spammed out over the past few days. (Click here…)
